Super Mario Run came live on the 15th of December, 2016. It is Nintendo’s first smartphone game featuring Mario. For a start, the game is available only in Apple store. With its price capped at ten dollars, we can say it is fairly affordable, not in third world countries though.
There is room for trying this game that necessarily requires internet connectivity before the $10 purchase. In the first day of release, it was downloaded 2.85 million times compared to Pokemon Go that was downloaded 900,000 times. On a lighter note though, I do not see celebrities like musicians playing this game as was the case in Pokemon Go. Super Mario Run comes in three playing modes which are the World Tour, the Toad Rally and lastly Kingdom builder. The first mode comprises twenty-four levels. iOS 8+ and higher versions support this game and in terms of iPhones, the iPhone 5 runs it with little or no glitches while higher versions run the game flawlessly.

The dedicated site for the game is supermariorun.com. In this game, Mario is on an endless run for the long haul. Critics are already passing verdict on the game with some saying it does not have the long-lasting captivating effect to keep players spell-bound. According to critics on this thread of thought, it is just a rave that will wear off in not so distant a time at least in popularity.
Also there are no much enthralling intricacies associated with the game. For instance, the 24 levels in the World Tour mode look less dissimilar and uneventful. Some terms and words we come across in this game are coins, enemies, pits, peach, toadette, toad, Yochi, Luigi.
SUPER MARIO RUN – THE WORLD TOUR MODE
The player cannot do away with jumping in this mode.A quick press is for a short jump while holding it down long sees Mario going higher. The pause block, which is a block with the pause sign inscribed on it allows the frenetic and always on the run Mario to catch some air and assess his next move.
There are also the directional blocks which do not necessarily point you in the right direction, so going with the wrong directional box will land you in one bad situation such as a pit, enemy or lava.Replaying levels previously passed allows the player to further explore and garner more points previously missed. There are characters and these come with their unique innate abilities, for example, the Yoshi is a very good jumper and surmounts spikes without stress while Toad is synonymous with speed. The aim of playing each of the 24 levels is to get to the
The aim of playing each of the 24 levels is to get to the flag pole which is the finish line.
SUPER MARIO RUN – THE TOAD RALLY
After going through the World Tour, here is the next port of call where you are put in an environment to compete with others players score that are higher than yours. Different colored toads allow for peculiar purchases and to get this kind of toads, the player has to choose opponents having these colours and conquer them to acquire them.Theplayer must be savvy in choosing his opponents because a loss translates invariably to a loss in points already gained.A wise player also places more emphasis on points or coins rather than just taking pleasure in fighting foes.Because if in the long run, you ‘die’ it would have a

SUPER MARIO RUN – KINGDOM BUILDER
In the kingdom builder mode, the player gets the chance to create his kingdom and build on it from the coins he had acquired in previous modes and characters he had unlocked. Here, there are houses only specific characters such as Peach can unlock and provide access while the coins help in decoration of the houses by being the currency with which to exchange for materials and accessories of interest.
It is an engaging game online game since you could check back some hours later to see if you have been awarded game bonuses and some other stuff to do.
For those already having a Nintendo account there are fringe benefits of synchronising the Super Mario Run with your account as this guarantees you extra points and the privilege of activating Toad, a unique character. Also the sync makes sure when you lose your device or get a new phone you start from just where you left off with no hassles.
The other day prior to the release of Sper Mario Run, I was watching on Bloomberg Tv, the head of Nintendo in the United States and he inferred that even though the game is getting launched on iOS it will not be exclusive to Apple. Not far from now Super Mario Run will be running on the ubiquitous Android operating system. It is easy to decipher that it is even on the Android platform that the game would get more across to consumers and make more money. On this
It is easy to decipher that it is even on the Android platform that the game would get more across to consumers and make more money. On this premise, I say, Android users do not despair Mario will be running on your phones soon enough.Even without purchasing the game Nintendo has given room for playing the game although the premium content would be out of reach but at least one gets to feel the game and truly confirm if he or she wants to go for it.
On the surface it would seem that Super Mario Run outperformed Pokemon Go by the sales figures. But on a closer look, you will find out that Nintendo put in a lot of effort advertising and marketing this game before its release and also made it available in more than 100 countries at the same darn time. Now let’s contrast this with Pokemon Go that did little press work and made its game available for download in just three countries and yet had to contend with litigations and the safety of the game (Playing Pokemon Go actually resulted in some tragedies and also somewhat curious discoveries).
The thing worth pointing out here is that Nintendo actually partly owns Pokemon Go, the other partners being Niantic. So you can say it has been a very surreal year for Nintendo shareholders. And just like Pokemon Go which has since been made available on Android it is a no-brainer that Super Mario Run will follow in same path. Because if these games were first released on Android it would have meant iOS not doing a deal with the parent companies (talk about corporate ego).
The thought that kept creeping up in my mind was why it took Nintendo this long to literally go mobile. They could have been Candy Crush if they started out earlier. I guess, it still is better late than never.
