This article briefly explains what internet marketing strategy a new business owner needs to employ to grow his business. Internet Marketing is a very wild subject which many business owners do not consider when planning on how to grow their business.
The biggest fear of every new business owner is getting the right audience or customers for your products or services, and this has discouraged many from achieving their life dreams. In this article, I’ll highlight some of the strategies you need to apply to run a successful Internet marketing campaign.
It could be discouraging when you see big brands and thinking that these brands are your potential competitors makes it even scarier. Thanks to the internet, you can now reach out to a targeted audience about your own products and if you have valid reasons and offers, you might just be on the right track to building your own super brand! That is the power of Internet Marketing.
What is Internet Marketing?
Internet marketing is just what the name implies. Advertising products and services online. There are several types of online marketing, including search engine optimization, pay per click and social media marketing. This type of marketing makes it easier for companies and individuals to target specific advertisements to a defined audience.
To learn more techniques, you should pretend to be a customer and see what other sellers and marketers are doing in the niche you are interested in. Subscribe to other email lists, and analyze what attracts you and what makes you not want to buy the product. Adapt these techniques to your product.
Where do I start From?
To upgrade your visibility and get the word out about your business, create a Facebook page. Facebook is a worldwide phenomenon, and a tool that you must incorporate to maximize potential. Create a detailed page about what you can offer to your client, which can be visible to over 750 million different people.
Give clear direction to your consumers without being too pushy. You want your customers to buy from you and to do this, they need to know how. Tell them which links to click, what to fill out and where to find the information they need, to complete the process. If your readers have to guess how to do something, they are not likely to complete the process.
Wait! You Need a Beautiful Website
I still don’t get the reason why many people ignore this important factor, your website is as important as your physical address.
In fact, for me, and my type of service, my website is more important than my physical address.
Over 70 percent of new business owners in our society don’t seem to give much importance to owning a website. Many of them spend thousands running internet marketing campaigns without having a landing page to give the users more informative description of what to expect of your products or service. And more importantly, give your business an identity.
And your website must be appealing too…
Make sure your “front door” is a pretty one. Your website is the only way people will get to know you. Make sure to make a great first impression on your visitors by creating an open, welcoming, and descriptive place for them. Understand that your website is your main means of communication, and keep the doors open!
At the bottom of every page on your site, do not forget to add a back to top option. This will allow every visitor to avoid scrolling and get to the top of the page by simply clicking a button. Inserting a back to top button limits frustration and will improve your sales.
No matter where you want to buy advertising space, make sure that you think about the audience that will see your ad. Don’t purchase advertising space on a website for people recovering from alcoholism if you’re trying to sell alcohol. Make sure the right people are seeing your ads, or else they won’t be effective.
Even though they are print media, business cards are an important part of your Internet marketing strategy. Every time you hand a potential customer your business card, you have the opportunity to direct them to your website. Be sure the URL for your site is printed on your business cards.
More than any one internet marketing strategy, it is trust between website users and website owners that leads to sales. Visitors who have consistently pleasant and useful interactions with a particular website are more inclined to listen to that website’s owner when it comes time to make a buying decision. Fostering trust is the key to converting faithful visitors into faithful customers.
I’m on a Low Budget, Can I still Run an Internet Marketing Campaign?
Why not? I remember running my first Internet Marketing campaign mid-2014, the total money I spent back then was $50 and that campaign brought me 3 clients, clients that are still among my top clients in 2017.
There is no little amount when it comes to Internet Marketing, the most important thing is planning. Study your audience and your competitors. Know what aspect your competitors are lacking, you should know what additional service you can render that others don’t, then run a campaign with that little that you have targeting the little audience that’ll need your products and services the most.
The biggest mistake many new business owners face today with internet marketing is audience targeting, a new business owner that wants to promote his products nationwide with very little budget is likely to crumble. Instead, target your state and towns around you, this way you spend less in advertising fee, and you can easily follow the progress of your campaign.
And with time, as your business grow, you’ll have more money for marketing, so you can taget more states and towns.
No Budget at all? You can Still Succeed with Internet Marketing
We have discussed those with little budget and what internet marketing strategy they need to implement above. What about those without any marketing campaign budget, what strategy should they apply or is Internet marketing not for them?
If you do not have advertisement money for your business, there are still ways out for you. Among those ways is ways include;
Search Engine Optimisation: Utilising your website blog section by writing on well-researched topics relating to the products or services you render is one of the best ways to gain lots of customers in a short period.
The ultimate goal of this is for you to rank for keywords in your niche. This way, when potential buyers or customers search online through the popular search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo etc, your written article will come up among the top results, and you can easily link your product in these articles and you will be gaining organic customers.
This is rated one of the most important internet marketing strategies.
Social Media Sharing: Since you do not have money to run marketing campaigns, you’ll have to do some extra work by promoting your products on social media. When you have a new product to sell, post it to your social media pages and ask your friends to share.
To make it easier, you can use free tools like Pilot Poster to post to multiple Facebook groups and Facebook pages automatically.
Blog Commenting: Commenting on other blogs makes you gain more traffic to your website. However, you don’t just make comments on any blog and you don’t write comment that does not contribute to the discussion.
When you post helpful and insightful comments on other blogs or website, others will be temp to visit your website. This also is a very good internet marketing strategy.
Is there any Disadvantage of Internet Marketing?
Although internet marketing can be much less expensive than traditional forms of advertisement and results can be measured quickly and accurately, some disadvantages do exist. A major problem is that some people refuse to purchase anything online and others just don’t trust the internet. Personal information can be hacked and abused when held by online companies.
